Customer Post – Macramé Wall Hanging

I placed my first RopeShop.ca order last month in an attempt to fulfill a new year’s resolution: pick up a hobby for the dark and gloomy February evenings! After going through my Pinterest account for many hours, I was inspired to give macramé a shot. Another source of inspiration was an episode of the Project Runway, my favourite TV show. In one of the last episodes in season 15, one of the contestants created a macramé dress from manila rope! I was intrigued.

I did some research online and found out that I could get the best deal in Canada on RopeShop.ca. I ordered 1000 ft of 100% Cotton 3 strand rope in two different diameters and a couple of craft cords in different colours.

My first project was 1 x 1.5 meter wall hanging in symmetrical geometric pattern with colourful thread at the bottom. I used the basic square knot to create consecutive squares. I have to admit, this project was way fun and the knotting process therapeutic!

I am very excited to start a new project and use different knots, patterns and colouring (e.g., dying).
